'Broadway Tower'

It wasn’t until I was in my thirties that I felt the call to paint. Life was busy until then – work, travel, family, gaining an Open University Degree and a move out to the Gloucestershire village of Alderton. With children at home, I started by painting murals. Involvement with a local art group and curating exhibitions of others’ work kicked me into gear to create more portable paintings of my own. It was clear to me then what my subject was going to be, as every day I passed beautiful scenes whilst out with my dog.

From that point in 2007 I have been constantly painting, inspired by the nature around my Cotswold home and beyond. Alongside exhibitions and events, I also became deeply involved with artist-led cooperative shops selling locally created art and crafts. This led to me setting up and running one first in Cheltenham then later in Bourton-on-the-Water, which closed when the lease ended in 2021, freeing up my creative time more. I am currently an active member in the Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre, Cotswold Craftsmen, Junction 12 Art Group and the Beckford Collective.

My paintings are detailed, I spend weeks or months creating them until I am happy with the result. In addition to the original artworks, I offer limited edition quality Fine Art Prints of my paintings which have proved popular, adorning thousands of homes. I have now shown my work in many exhibitions and events across the Southwest, including such prestigious venues as the RWA and RBSA. My originals and prints are in collections across the UK and overseas, I still feel honoured when someone chooses to purchase a little piece of me, which is what goes into every one of my paintings.
