Caroline J Evans MA showcases a collection of recent paintings celebrating the beauty of flowers

About the Artist

"In my artistic exploration, I immerse myself in the intricate beauty of nature, capturing the ephemeral essence of flowers in close-up, primarily through the timeless medium of oil on canvas.

My work is an intimate dialogue with the delicate and resilient nature of flowers. Through the luminous qualities of oil, I strive to convey not only the vibrant hues and velvety textures but also the emotional resonance embedded within each petal. The canvas becomes a portal, inviting viewers to peer closely into the heart of the botanical world, where the smallest details unfurl into profound narratives.

As an artist, my intention is to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation, inviting the observer to pause and appreciate the intricacies often overlooked in the hustle of everyday life. Through my brushwork, I aspire to cultivate a heightened awareness of the exquisite details that exist in the natural world, encouraging a deeper connection between the viewer and the subject.

In a world that often moves too swiftly, my paintings serve as a visual sanctuary, a haven where one can lose oneself in the timeless allure of blossoms. It is my hope that within these close-ups, viewers may discover a renewed appreciation for the fleeting moments of beauty that surround us, and perhaps, in that appreciation, find a profound sense of connection and solace.

I have recently become a full-time, professional, artist, after 26 years of teaching art at senior level in independent schools. I am currently a member of The Lansdown Art Studios in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and hold a BA (Hons) in Illustration from the Kent Institute of Art & Design and an MA (Dist) in Artist Teacher Practice from Oxford Brookes University."
