Tamsin Stuart

Alongside art, my other passion is kickboxing and martial arts and I’m convinced this has given me the confidence to take the plunge with my painting. In the same year I became a blackbelt, I also launched Tamsin Stuart Art.

I think it also goes some way to explain why I’m so preoccupied with movement in my work. I want my subjects to have a punch, a whoosh moment, a sense of being alive.

So even when I’m painting still life pieces, I like the challenge of injecting a sense of movement or dramatic contrast to bring them to life.

An ex-newspaper journalist, I like getting stuck into new challenges. I paint whatever catches my eye. Often that’s something in motion, but if it’s not, I love putting my energetic take on it. If I’m inspired by the idea, the shapes and the colour, I’ll have a go at anything!

Cheltenham based, I work chiefly in acrylic, have a full range of prints, cards and merchandise for sale, and offer a commission service.
