25 September - 1 October. Finding a Place is an exhibition delving into themes of place and identity through landscapes and figures.

bio

I am a self-taught artist exploring a range of themes with a particular emphasis on landscape painting. My painting style is bold, graphic and impressionistic. I particularly enjoy finding ways to interpret the landscape that conveys the essence of place in a simplified form using colour and shape. I work with a limited palette to convey the sense of calm and joy I find in my experience of the landscape. I am mainly a studio based painter though sometimes work en plein air. I work in both acrylics and soft pastels. This collection of work features local landscapes which are largely is inspired by my walking experiences in the Cotswolds, and near my home in Cheltenham.
