I specialise in oil portraiture, I love connecting with a person through painting them, capturing someone's unique expression, based on a photoshoot or from life. My fascination for others is revealed in the way I try to capture a brief moment of their life in paint. Old masters such as Manet, Vermeer and Caravaggio are important influences in my work and I often like to replicate their traditional way of framing and lighting a portrait in my own work. ​I love sharing the journey of a portrait commission with a client; getting to know the person, setting up a photoshoot and then painting the portrait to capture their soul as well as their likeness. An oil portrait is an heirloom and something that will be treasured for generations to come. The works in this collection are a mix of commissioned portraits and my own initiated work. In every portrait I create I love painting the details that make someone unique and special.
