bio
Jacqueline is an oil painter and keen sketcher in pen and watercolour whose work is often rooted in observations of landscape and plants.
In 2020 during lockdown she began walking local footpaths daily, getting closer to nature, observing the continual changes in landscape and plants, taking lots of photos, and sketching. Although untrained she was inspired to experiment with oils for the first time and found excitement in this expressive medium.
Stimulated by the often overlooked beauty in the everyday world around us Jacqueline paints in the studio and occasionally en plein air. Focused on the play of light, colour and pattern, her paintings seek to capture the feeling of a moment in time, whether contemplative, celebratory or both.
