Olivia Mitchell (b. Cheltenham) is a contemporary artist whose work evolves through gesture, texture and instinctive mark-making. Rooted in the rhythms of the natural world, her practice centres on the physicality of painting- layering, scraping back and reworking surfaces to build depth. While she primarily works in acrylic, she has recently introduced the use of inks and charcoal to further explore material and mark.
