PAUL PARK - PARK LIFE

6 - 12 March. An exhibition by Paul Park, a celebration of everything we see around us

bio

Cheltenham based artist, Paul Park works primarily with oil pastels to create his visually exciting and vibrant works of art. Seven years ago, Paul had a large stroke which left him without the use of his right hand, minimal speech and damage to his right foot. It meant a life changing journey of recovery and rehabilitation with some surprising new paths of discovery along the way. After re – learning to write with his left-hand Paul then stepped up to the challenge of drawing. It was difficult at first, Paul had to overcome a lot of shakiness, but continued determination, and practice saw him beginning to make real progress. Today, after continuing to develop as an artist, Paul now has a firm and consistent art practice. Paul’s sheer love of life have become inspirational starting points for each piece of work that he creates. Houses, trains, trees and fish take on exuberant colour and presence in his surreal and joyful compositions. Having sold work locally in Cheltenham and Worcester Paul continues to build upon his success with upcoming shows in Cheltenham, Worcester and a recent national card design competition win.
