bio
After studying fine art at Portsmouth Poly in the 1980s, I undertook an MA in textiles at goldsmiths college, London.
I shifted medium from sheet metal sculptures to fibre and textiles which was a radically different way of working...
I became entranced by the medium of felt making, which seemed to enable a different way of mark making - painting with wool .
As the colour range of wool tops expanded , the capacity for depicted imagery did too.
I have exhibited widely in the uk and undertaken commissions here and abroad over 30 years.
On leaving College I was artist in residence at Battersea Arts Centre in London, where I ran the pottery ( and let my old friend and colleague grayson perry have a corner! )
I had a studio at New brewery Arts, cirencester for 15 years until 2015 when I moved to one in Stroud. Now in Ledbury for a short time, we are hoping to move back to the area...
My latest show will be Wool to Wall at Hay Castle , during Hay literature festival
