Lockdown i
Alex Westmore
oil on canvas
69 x 76
This self portrait was produced during the first covid lockdown and captures the sense of fatigue. Blue thread often features within my work, in this case it is used to exaggerate a sense of unravelling. The orange Tolix chair occurs in a number of my works, as seen in my other entry. The chair acts as a symbol of reassuring stability, in this work my slumped body calls this into question.
