Eleanor Woolley - Walking Home

THIS FRIDAY OUR FEATURED ARTIST IS ELEANOR WOOLLEY

Eleanor's vibrant, expressive paintings use light and colour to create mood and narrative in everyday scenes. Predominately multi-figure paintings her works describe a landscape and a sense of place as well as emote its subjects through shadow and suggestion.

Her work captures the inner dialogues of her figures, creating atmosphere and life in both the inanimate and the human, rendering the places and people alive and personified with her particular way of referencing light. The scenes she creates are highly recognisable but with a sense of the intangible - it being Eleanor's beautiful, highly saturated world and we are being allowed to visit it just through the glimpses she gives us.

Eleanor's techniques of using spontaneous, quick mark making and layering effects to build the light, lend an ephemeral feel to the work, letting the viewer soak in a quiet minute without formality or pretension.

Eleanor regularly shows works and is part of both Hadfield Fine Art and Wychwood Art, check out her portfolio for where you can next see her work in person or enquire about specific pieces.
