A sunlit path winds through lush, vibrant green trees. Dappled light creates a serene, peaceful, and inviting atmosphere.

SIXTEEN GALLERY | 31 JULY -- 6 AUGUST

BARBARA CURRY LIVES IN WINCHCOMBE, IN THE MIDST OF COTSWOLDS WALKING COUNTRY.

JOYFUL IS A PRESENTATION OF HER TEXTURED OIL PAINTINGS CELEBRATING HER SURROUNDINGS.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

BARBARA CURRY

Barbara has developed her successful artistic career since her retirement from teaching. She is a graduate of the Norfolk Painting School diploma programme (2021), specialising in oil painting techniques which include some traditional methods alongside an impressionist celebration of light and colour. She enjoys semi-abstract composition and expressionist brushwork, including contemporary mark-making such as printing with objects, scratching and scraping, giving each painting its own textural interest for the viewer.

Barbara feels compelled to paint: almost every local walk brings fresh ideas, and she paints nearly every day. This exhibition will be her third at Sixteen, and since her previous show in April last year, she has won Art Focus magazine's "Unique Landscape Artist of the Year" and continues to develop her techniques, with a recent very successful Open Studios show for COS at her own studio in Winchcombe.
