THIS WEEK OUR FRIDAY FEATURE ARTICLE IS ON THE TEXTILE ARTIST CORYNNA JEUDWINE
Corynna Jeudwine is a textile artist who currently works with mono printing and collage, exploring the freedom of colour and pattern. Mainly based on geometric forms she often uses architecture as an inspiration for her work and works in a muted, natural colour palette. Corynna makes her own backgrounds by layering papers on to a substrate and then collaging on top. This gives a rich texture to each piece and allows her to alter her work as she goes along, playing with the shape and pattern to effect different outcomes.
Her sensitive use of textures, shapes and colours interacting in this way create works that often give a sense of delicacy and brimming with dreamy nostalgia, evoking nature and its presence in urban situations.
Other works become bold and almost graphic with an emphasis on the geometric shapes she finds in architecture. Both distinct styles come together through her signature colour palette and deft use of layers to create eye pleasing pieces.
You can find out where to see her work next, view her latest pieces, message her directly, or find her on socials all in her portfolio below.
