SIXTEEN GALLERY |3 -- 9 JULY

A FINE BALANCE IS AN EXHIBITION OF ORIGINAL PAINTINGS BY TAMSIN HYDE EXPLORING THE DELICATE INTERPLAY BETWEEN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL LANDSCAPES, OFFERING A VISUAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN STATES OF MIND AND THE NATURAL WORLD.

Through abstract oil paintings, this collection captures the shifting energy of emotions and environments – layers of texture and movement evoke the tension between chaos and serenity, light and shadow, fluidity and stillness. Inspired by organic elements, these works reflect the ever-changing rhythm of nature and its parallels with human experience, inviting viewers to navigate the fragile equilibrium that shapes our perception of self and surrounding.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tamsin Hyde paints in an expressive and intuitive way, mainly in oils, and sometimes acrylics. The starting point for a painting could be a partly formed thought, a fragment of memory, a moment in time or a place half remembered. Her work references elements from external landscapes, both natural and manmade, as well as inner landscapes and states of mind.

Graduating with a degree in fine art from the University of Gloucestershire in 2014 Tamsin is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire where she has a studio. She takes part in Cheltenham Open Studios prior to her solo exhibition and is part of the Sixteen Gallery Online Collective.
