Artist Biography
Caroline Hope works in watercolour and oils, inspired by beauty in landscape and seascape but she loves to include some human or animal interest, exploring how they may appear as misfits, or meld into, their environment and likes to look for a story to tell.
She endeavours to capture the light by working with colour and tone and mostly use her own photographs as reference – a useful tool to capture living moments when hands are fully occupied with dog leads! These living moments then translate onto paper or canvas.
Caroline has always been a part-time dabbler but then undertook more serious training with Trevor Waugh, developing her watercolours and taking up oil painting. She has exhibited locally, particularly as Cheltenham Open Studios, Gardens Gallery and Broadway Arts Festival, and is a member of Gloucestershire Society of Artists.
