Alan Williams

I was born in Cheltenham and worked in the building industry as a designer. I often worked in different areas of the UK and abroad. Since I first held a pencil I created 2D art, studied at art college and with various artists. Life drawing and landscape have always been my main interest, but recently I have done some portraits as I like variety. Since retiring in 2014 I have spent as much time as possible travelling and painting. I am very inspired by the mountain regions of the UK, especially Scotland and Snowdonia. I also like the warmer landscapes of Spain and Italy. I live in Woodmancote and have access to our beautiful local landscape which always finds ways to motivate me to paint.
