Alexandra Churchill

Alexandra Churchill was born and raised on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. She has been painting in oils since the age of 12 and is largely self-taught. Living near the ocean she was drawn to paint seascapes and moody landscapes. Wildlife was always a huge draw having influences from renowned wildlife painter Robert Bateman.

For the past 20 years Alexandra and her photographer husband have been living in the English countryside, taking inspiration from their beautiful Cotswold environment. Horses are a favourite subject with racing and polo a great interest. Alex has an international reputation for her equine portraits, many on a grand scale to life size. Alexandra's work has been widely published in North America and can be seen in The Museum of Fine Art Boston and the Smithsonian.

Postcards of her work have been sold in the Ashmolean Museum, Buckingham Palace and The Vatican. Alexandra's work is highly collectable for its timeless quality and can be found in two Royal Households. Her Gloucestershire studio is open by appointment and commissions are welcomed.
