We're transitioning into Autumn with some beautiful shows, bright and wild enough to perfectly mark the changing of the season.

26 August – 1 September
TANIA FULLERTON, JACQUELLINE HAMMOND, SARAH MIDDLETON & ABIGAIL WADDELL
GARDENS GALLERY, CHELTENHAM
Abigail Waddell and Tania Fullerton curate a collaborative exploration of place, object and form including 7 local artists at Gardens Gallery. Catch it before it's gone!

CORN EXCHANGE GALLERY, CARDIGAN GUILDHALL
Responses to what lingers, fragments of structure, atmosphere and history, Jane's works remind us that every landscape carries the imprint of lives lived and collective memory. This time, Jane takes her latest work to the Corn Exchange Gallery at Cardigan Guildhall.

GARDENS GALLERY, CHELTENHAM
Cat Thorne brings I Can Buy Myself Flowers to the Gardens Gallery. A showcase of her latest work alongside three other local artists including Caroline Evans. Cat will also host “I Can Paint Myself Flowers” a creative pause, with afternoon tea and cake and a glass of sparkly, to release your inner artist. It takes place on Sunday 13th September, 3pm - 5.30 – £40.00pp with all proceeds going to Sue Ryder and Cheltenham Open Door.
11 – 15 September
ATKINSON GALLERY, STREET
Tamsin Hyde takes part in Conceal/Reveal at Atkinson Gallery. Curated by the Atkinson Gallery team, this open exhibition invites viewers to explore the theme in unexpected and thought-provoking ways. Featuring a diverse range of sculpture, textiles, and paintings by both international and local artists, the exhibition examines the relationship between what is hidden and what is brought into view.

SIXTEEN GALLERY, CHELTENHAM
Christina Sadler brings The Quiet Between to Sixteen Gallery. Through it she explores the moments that reconnect us to ourselves, moments that feel deeply personal, yet quietly connect us to one another. Through a series of expressive works inspired by light, weather and the natural world, Christina moves between abstraction and landscape. A suggestion of cloud, a hint of coastline: each painting explores the spaces between memory, place and feeling.

17 – 20 September
LAGLEY MEADOW HALL, BERKHAMSTED
Sally Dorrity Hertfordshire Open Studios this month, showing in a group of ten artists artists and makers at Lagley Meadow Hall. The exhibition includes ceramics, textiles, jewellery, painting, illustration and more.

18 – 20 September
BROADWAY CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY
Fiona Hodgetts presents Atmosphere III with Broadway Contemporary Art Gallery. Showcasing her signature atmospheric work that is expressive and tonalist – sometimes in the Romantic sublime tradition – this collection is influenced by the light of the vast skylines, sunsets, flat marshy muddy terrain and seascapes.

SPRING GALLERY, CHELTENHAM
Jonathan Oakes presents Sanctuary at Spring Gallery, an exhibition of truly original contemporary abstract artworks. Seeking sanctuary in his artworks, Jonathan uses his practice as a narrative expression, an outpour of emotional experience and a therapeutic understanding of imagination. Sanctuary, is individual stories that relate to the underlying theme.

25 September – 4 October
BROADWAY ARTS FESTIVAL
The annual art competition returns for 2026. With hundreds of entries whittled down by a panel of judges, we're happy to see a good handful of the collective members being selected to exhibit! The show promises to a lovely eclectic mix of contemporary practices, with prizes and demos throughout the 10 day exhibition.

COAST COLOUR CANVAS GALLERY
Matt Spence takes a guest spot at Coast Colour Canvas Gallery, near Coverack, Cornwall. Showcasing his recent works created predominantly en plein air, he takes over the space with works conveying both the visual character and emotional resonance of places he's connected with.
